Psychoeducation is aimed at people of all ages who experience difficulties adapting to their different living environments, at home, at work, at school, etc. The psycho-educator will establish objectives and an intervention plan to accompany you during a stoppage or return to work, to provide you with support related to your mental health or to help you through a difficult period, for example.
Why consult a psycho-educator?
As part of your rehabilitation program, your rehabilitation counselor may refer you for psychoeducation.
The role of the psycho-educator is to help you adapt to your different living environments, at home, at work, at school, etc. Taking into account your reality, your support network and your needs, the psycho-educator will establish objectives and an intervention plan to help you overcome your difficulties.
Sometimes living with temporary or chronic pain related to a physical health condition can impact your mental health. The psycho-educator can become an important ally in a treatment and rehabilitation plan, working together with a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, acupuncturist or others to help you regain overall well-being.
YOU

- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Depression
- Difficulty getting organized
- Personality traits
- Chronic pain
Some methods used by psycho-educators
Psycho-educators are able to offer a host of means to equip you to deal with a problem, by accompanying you in their implementation and their evolution as they go along. For example, they may suggest ways to:
- Question anxiety-provoking thoughts
- Facilitate the management of symptoms such as persistent or chronic pain
- Help manage emotions
- Promote good energy management, etc.
Appointments can be held as needed in other clinics in the network or remotely through telerehabilitation. Your rehabilitation counselor, in collaboration with our third-party payer manager, will be able to guide you to get your psychoeducation treatments off to a good start.
