Releasing Muscle Tension: Exercises for Restorative Sleep

Do you often wake up with back or neck pain? Are morning aches ruining your day? To relieve these tensions, it’s essential to maintain good posture during the night and incorporate some relaxation exercises and gentle stretches. Discover a few physiotherapist-recommended exercises for more comfortable nights and smoother mornings!

Stretching: preparing for sleep and waking up

These exercises should help you relieve neck pain related to the sleeping position. We recommend that you do them in the hour before going to sleep and just after waking up.

Caution: These exercises should be done slowly, without causing pain. The goal here is not to go as far as possible, but to stretch gently. We are looking for a slight stretching sensation. Note that it is quite normal to feel a little stiffer in the morning.

If in doubt, do not hesitate to consult a physiotherapist for an exercise program and advice adapted to your condition.
